We’ve Got You Mama — You’re Not Alone

Becoming a mother changes everything.
The joy can be real, but so can the overwhelm, the exhaustion, the identity shift, and the feelings you might not feel comfortable saying out loud. We understand because we've been there.
At Nurture & Be, we specialize in supporting moms through every stage — from planning pregnancy to navigating life with a newborn and beyond.
It’s Not Just Baby Blues
You expected to feel tired. You expected sleepless nights. But maybe you didn't expect:

You want to know if these feelings are valid. You want reassurance that you're not broken, that you’re not a bad mom. You're a human being going through one of life's most profound transitions.
We believe when you help the mother, you heal the family.
This isn't just our tagline — it's the heartbeat of everything we do.
Because we know that when mom is supported, when she has space to process, heal, and find herself again, the whole family thrives.

We Support Mothers at Every Stage:

A Safe Space That Gets It
Therapy for moms isn't just about postpartum depression screening. It's about having someone who:
Understands the weight of the mental load
Won't judge you for the thoughts you're afraid to say out loud
Validates that you can love your baby AND struggle
Helps you find yourself again in the midst of motherhood
Supports you in setting boundaries (yes, even with family)
Processes the birth experience you didn't expect
Navigates relationship changes with your partner
Helps calm anxiety spirals and intrusive thoughts when they take over
MODALITIES USED
Practical Approaches We Use:
- Talk therapy to process feelings and experiences
- EMDR for birth trauma or traumatic experiences
- Cognitive-behavioral approaches for anxiety and intrusive thoughts
- Attachment and bonding support
- Relationship counseling (individual or couples)
- Mindfulness and grounding techniques
- Postpartum-specific interventions
We also provide a place where your questions about medication are welcomed and answered by a psychiatric nurse practitioner who specializes in perinatal mental health. With your permission, we can coordinate care with your OBs, pediatricians, chiropractors, psychiatrists, and functional medicine teams, while also offering practical coping strategies for sleep deprivation and self-care that actually fits into real mom life.
Together, we help you reconnect with who you are beyond “mom,” honoring both the woman you’ve been and the one you’re becoming.

You Don't Have to Repeat Your Story
One of the most exhausting parts of getting help is telling your story over and over to different providers. We build bridges between them all so you never have to repeat your story. Here are some ways we could coordinate care for your whole being.
Your Therapist + Psychiatrist (if needed)
Laura, our psychiatric nurse practitioner, is also a certified nurse midwife, bringing a unique depth of understanding to prenatal and postpartum mental health. She specializes in supporting parents through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, with medication decisions that thoughtfully consider both pregnancy and breastfeeding.
With your permission, your therapist and psychiatric provider work closely together, ensuring your care is coordinated, informed, and centered around what’s safest and most supportive for you and your baby.
Your Therapist + Your OB/Midwife (if Helpful)
With your permission, your therapist can collaborate with your OB or midwife to support truly comprehensive care.
This may include sharing relevant updates, helping you prepare for appointments, and supporting clear communication between providers—so your needs are heard and your care feels aligned. If requested, we’re here to help you coordinate care.
This is The Circle of Care - and it's what makes us different.

OUR FOUNDER
Brooke's Story
When founder Brooke Ferreira opened her practice, she was nine months pregnant — a therapist stepping into motherhood herself. Within days, she found herself navigating postpartum life: joy, exhaustion, isolation, identity shifts, and the quiet ache of realizing how little support truly existed for mothers. That season built a desire to create the space she longed for herself during such a transformative time in her life.
Common Questions from Moms
Absolutely. We understand that childcare isn't always possible, especially for nursing moms. Bring your baby. Feed them during session. We'll work around their needs.
Yes! You don't need a diagnosis to deserve support. Struggling with the transition, feeling overwhelmed, questioning your identity—these are all valid reasons to seek therapy.
It varies. Some moms feel relief in a few sessions. Others benefit from ongoing support through the first year. We'll work at your pace.
Yes! We know getting out of the house with a newborn can feel impossible. We offer virtual therapy in Georgia and Florida.
Our psychiatric nurse practitioner (who is also a certified nurse midwife) specializes in medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding. She can help you weigh the options and make informed decisions.
Intrusive thoughts are much more common than you think. Having scary thoughts about harm coming to your baby doesn't mean you want to hurt them—often it's a sign of anxiety or postpartum OCD. We can help.
