BRING YOUR WHOLE SELF

Your First Session

Your first session is about getting to know each other, understanding what brings you in, and exploring what you hope for from therapy. You stay in control of the pace and the story, sharing only what feels right while we gently begin shaping goals and a plan together. Your provider will also explain our collaborative approach, making sure you always have full choice and consent over how your care is supported.

For virtual clients, you will receive an invitation to the Jane App, our HIPAA-compliant video platform, with instructions before your first session. Test your connection five minutes early and find a quiet, private space to talk freely.

For those arriving in our therapy office in Peachtree City, plan to arrive a few minutes early. Our welcoming waiting area is designed for peace as you prepare for your session. Free parking is also available on-site.

Common Questions

What do I need for my first session?

Be sure to complete your intake forms ahead of time. Most importantly, bring your whole self. That includes your nerves, your questions, and everything in between. You are welcome exactly as you are.

How often will I have sessions?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum, trust, and consistency. As you grow and your needs change, your session frequency can shift too. We’ll talk openly about what feels supportive, realistic, and sustainable for your goals and your budget—because this is your care, and you stay in control of the schedule.

Can I switch providers if it’s not a good fit?

Absolutely. Finding the right therapist is essential to your growth, and it’s okay if the first match isn’t the one. If you’re not feeling connected, just let us know—we’ll help you find another therapist on our team who may be a better fit. No awkwardness, no judgment—your comfort and progress come first.

Can I bring my children to sessions?

When possible, we encourage arranging childcare so your session can be fully focused on you — but we also honor real life. In virtual sessions, it’s completely okay if little ones wander in and out or if your toddler or infant is nearby. And in the office, you’re always welcome to bring your baby if that feels most supportive for you.

Do you take insurance?

Most of our therapists are out-of-network providers, but we’re happy to provide superbills so you can seek reimbursement through your insurance plan. We do accept Care Credit when purchasing packaged therapy sessions, and some of our fully licensed therapists accept certain plans in-network. Contact us for more information!

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt you submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We’ll walk you through exactly how it works and provide everything you need.

How much do sessions cost?

Session fees vary by provider and service type. We are always transparent about costs upfront, and payment is due at the time of service. We believe quality mental health care is an investment in both you and your family.

How long are sessions?

The length of sessions varies depending on the type of meeting and the care being provided. Most range from 50 to 55 minutes, but services such as initial intake, medication management, and psychiatry may be longer.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice when possible. Late cancellations will include a full-session fee, but we also understand that life happens — and offer one free cancellation per year. Rescheduling is simple through our online portal, and we’re always here to help if something comes up.

Is my information confidential?

Yes — your privacy is sacred here. Confidentiality is sacred, with only a few legal exceptions related to safety, which we’ll explain clearly in your first session. If your care involves collaboration with other providers, nothing is ever shared without your written consent. You always remain in control of your information.

What about virtual/online therapy?

Virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person care for most clients, and many find it even more convenient. Sessions are held on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, so your privacy is always protected. If you’re in Florida or Georgia, you can receive the same high-quality, relationship-centered care from the comfort of your home—making it a great option for busy schedules, limited childcare, or simply wanting therapy to fit more gently into your life.

Is Medication Management Covered by Insurance?

One of our psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNP) accepts certain insurance plans in-network, which means medication appointments may be covered directly by insurance. Therapy sessions, however, remain out-of-network with superbills provided.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

At this time, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. However, we’re always happy to help refer you to trusted providers who do.

What if I need help right now?

If you are in immediate danger, we encourage you to call 911 right away. You can also reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988, or the Georgia Crisis & Access Line at 1-800-715-4225. While our therapists are not a replacement for emergency services, we are here to support you through urgent situations and help connect you with the right level of care. You don’t have to navigate those moments alone—we will help guide you toward safety and support.
